Think of Al-Aridah like a dot on the map. It sits 65 kilometers to the east of Jazan city (the main city of the province). On all sides it has neighbors:
- North: al-Idabi, Fayfa and Ad Dair governorates
- East: Yemen
- West: Abu Arish Governorate
- South: al-Hurrath Governorate and Yemen
How to Get There
If you want to visit Al-Aridah. You can fly to King Abdullah Airport in Jazan. It is about 79.4 kilometers away from Al-Aridah. After landing you can drive using Secondary Road 140. Which is the main road that connects Al-Aridah to other cities.

A Healthy City Award
Here is something to be proud of. In 2004 Al-Aridah became a “Healthy City” according to the World Health Organization (WHO). This is a big honor. It was the second city in Jazan Province to get this award (after Farasan Island) and the twenty-third in all of Saudi Arabia.
What does healthy city mean: It means the city takes care of its people’s health. In 2022 Al-Aridah met about 80 important health standards including clean water, safe food, clean air, good education and community care.
