The Saudi Military Participates in the UAE’s “Desert Flag” Air Drill

Saudi Arabia’s air force is joining other countries for a large training exercise called “Desert Flag” in the UAE. This event helps soldiers learn to work together.

Desert Flag

Desert Flag is a military exercise. Many countries send their air forces to train. They practice flying planes and working as a team. This helps them get ready for real situations.

Countries Involved

Saudi Arabia is not alone. Ten other countries are joining the exercise. They include: Qatar, Bahrain, Turkiye, the United States, France, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, and Germany.  

Details of the Exercise

The Saudi Royal Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces are taking part in this exercise at Al-Dhafra Air Base. It will last for several weeks.

Lt. Col. Pilot Faisal Al-Marwani leads the Saudi Air Force team. He stated that they prepared carefully to follow safety rules for military training. The Saudi Air Force brought six F-15C fighter jets with full crews. They aim to share skills and learn from each other through real-life combat situations. This helps them get ready and build strong relationships with other countries.

Activities During the Exercise

During the exercise, there will be many different air maneuvers. These include:

  • Defensive and offensive operations
  • Close air support
  • Combat search and rescue

Goals of the Exercise

The main goals are to share knowledge about planning and executing missions, improve combat readiness, and strengthen friendships with other forces.
