Elon Musk has revealed that Saudi Arabia will allow SpaceX’s Starlink service for aviation and maritime shipping during a $600 billion investment summit. The gathering coming up in Riyadh featured senior executives from some of the top publicly traded companies in the United States, like Sam Altman of OpenAI and Andy Jassy of Amazon. Musk presented Tesla’s Optimus robots doing “the Trump dance” for President Trump and the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. He boosted for various services — including robotaxis and tunnel projects that he said would improve Saudi life. Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet program, has recently expanded to countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo, and is in talks with Italy. It is yet not certain whether Starlink will be accessible to residential users in Saudi Arabia.
When Will Starlink Be Available in Saudi Arabia?
Currently, Starlink is authorized to be used in aviation and maritime, though there is no specific date to begin providing the service for those who want to use it as business or at home, in the Saudi Arabia. But it is expected that Starlink will gradually roll out services, as it has in neighboring countries like Qatar and Jordan.
