From February 12 to 22, the Saudi Film Commission will participate in the 76th Berlin International Film Festival to highlight its accomplishments in developing the regional industry.
The Saudi Press Agency said Thursday that a number of films that showcase the Kingdom’s growing infrastructure and the skill of regional filmmakers will be shown.
With an emphasis on significant turning points, such as “Norah,” the first Saudi film chosen for the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard section, the commission will showcase the Kingdom’s many locales.
“Saudi cinema goes beyond filmmaking to building cultural bridges and sharing authentic stories with global audiences,” stated Abdullah Al-Qahtani, the commission’s CEO.
The French National Center of Cinema is one of the top worldwide cinema institutes with whom the commission has signed a number of cooperation agreements.
In order to showcase the Kingdom’s growing cultural and creative network, it also started artistic projects in Berlin in association with international partners and movie theaters.
